TM Juke – Bees on Mars

And yet again, the chair dance continues. But let’s be real, it never stopped.

Something about this beat just makes me happy. And chair dance. I am the queen of chair dancing.

Tokimonsta – Little Pleasures

It’s no secret that I love Little Dragon, so of course when I heard Tokimonsta for the first time, I fell in love.

Here we go again

The last time I posted was on Tax Day… Yeah that’s about all I have to say about that.

– The Audible Mention

Talib Kweli & Hi-Tek – The Blast

1999.

The start of my high school career.

What more can I say. Nostalgia is as nostalgia does… Or something like that…

Music nerds of the universe: Unite!

Buzzfeed: How much of a music snob are you?

I’m not surprised… reeeeeally not surprised.

The comments are hilarious too, by the way. A bunch of people who REALLY wanted to be snobby and talk about music theory got their panties in a twist because the “quiz” (that apparently dictates real life) told them they weren’t music nerds. Well, guess what. I scored 47/100 and got this

Buzzfeed music quiz

Buzzfeed quizzes. Get me everytime.

And then, there was this:

Music shaming

Yes. I constantly do this. I really don’t mean to, I promise! Like that time, today, when I discussed the legalities of Vanilla Ice sampling David Bowie in my First Amendment class made up of 20/21 year olds? Yeah, like that…

I’m not upset. Honestly, I’m oddly proud. Take the quiz. Comment with your scores. And know that this means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. The fact that I feel I need to preface such is unbelievably discouraging. I shouldn’t have read those comments… chillllll people chilllllllllllllllllll.

Local Natives – Wide Eyes

It doesn’t bother me when I hear Local Natives as I shop inside Urban Outfitters. I’m not that kind of hipster. I don’t get angry when the cool kids act like they like them. I’m ok with that. As long as they don’t change, I’ll stay happy. I can’t listen to Taylor Rice’s voice without closing my eyes and wishing I was anywhere but here. Especially when there is SNOW IN APRIL. Thanks, Kansas. You are truly depressing. I will now just sit here in class, daydreaming of cruising along the 405 with my windows down and my hair blowing in the wind…

Stardust – Music Sounds Better With You

Flashback 16 years … I was in 8th grade, probably thinking I was way cooler than I was. My brother was in high school at the time so I naturally got to mooch off of his impeccable music taste. I’m not ashamed. 1998 was also a time of feel good, end of the nineties dance-jam that would soon merge with hip-hop to create the sounds we hear today. It’s Monday, people. It’s time to chair dance.
